As seen on HGTV, this silk painting of Gingkos was made by drawing the leaves on white silk with a waterproof sealant called UnGutta The design was then painted with silk dyes in a watercolor-like manner. Rock salt was placed on the wet dye to create texture. When dry, the painting was rolled up in paper and steamed to set the colors. Later it was rinsed, which removed the Ungutta to reveal the white lines, and finally pressed. Gingkos: 21" x 26" $250 |
